是采自火山灰沉积的底层，这类底层又分上中下三层，赤玉土就是开采中间层，砸碎过筛后就是赤玉土了。
二本线和三本线
 
赤玉土是一种土，火山灰沉淀的中层资源有限，所以有效利用资源就把那些碎屑的土壤放在高温炉子进行二次加工，二本线是意思是二次高温烧结的意思。三本线大概的意思是粉碎后在高温烧结一次是意思。
赤玉土的指标
 
1.保水性：保水能力相当不错，赤玉土可以把水分保存在颗粒内部颗粒越大保持潮湿的能力就越好。
 
 
2.亲根性：赤玉土硬度适中，很适合多肉扎根。赤玉土养植的多肉根系干净粗壮，用纯赤玉土种植一段时间后，每粒赤玉土都会被根系抓牢。
 
3。养分：除了氮肥和磷肥，赤玉土几乎含有多肉所需的其他微量元素。
